▶ 유기화학에서 이중결합의 절대 입체화학을 표시하는 IUPAC 권장 방법

E–Z configuration is the IUPAC preferred method of describing the absolute stereochemistry of double bonds in organic chemistry.

 

 

 

▶ 상대 입체화학만을 나타내는 시스-트랜스 표기법의 확장으로, 2개, 3개 또는 4개의 치환기를 갖고 있는 이중결합을 설명할 때 사용한다.

It is an extension of cis–trans isomer notation (which only describes relative stereochemistry) that can be used to describe double bonds having two, three or four substituents.

 

 

 

 

[표기 방법]

▶ 칸-잉골드-프렐로그 순위 규칙을 따라 이중결합의 각 치환기에 순위를 매긴다.

Following the Cahn–Ingold–Prelog priority rules (CIP rules), each substituent on a double bond is assigned a priority.

▶ 우선순위(높은 순위)의 치환기 2개가

이중결합의 반대쪽에 있으면, E로 표기하고,

(독일어 “반대쪽” 의미의 “entgegen”에서 유래)

 

이중결합의 같은 쪽에 있으면, Z로 표기한다.

(독일어 “같은 쪽” 의미의 “zusammen”에서 유래)

 

 

If the two groups of higher priority are on opposite sides of the double bond (trans to each other), the bond is assigned the configuration E.

 

If the two groups of higher priority are on the same side of the double bond (cis to each other), the bond is assigned the configuration Z.

 

 

 

▶ E, Z는 대문자, 이탤릭체로, 괄호 안에, 그리고 하이픈으로 분리하여 표기한다.
