2,5-diethyl-6-methylheptane은 잘못된 체계명이다.

먼저 2,5-diethyl-6-methylheptane의 구조식을 그려보면,

“가장 긴 곧은 사슬”이 heptane이 아닌 octane임을 알 수 있다.

 

 

 

 

근데 교육적으로 아주 아름답게(?) 두 개의 octane이 가능하다.

(1) 3-ethyl-2,6-dimethyloctane과 (2) 3-isopropyl-6-methyloctane
